TRANSGENDER & GENDER IDENTITY THERAPY

You can be true to yourself and express who you are!

MEANINGFUL LIFE

You can be true to yourself and express who you are. It really is possible to experience moments of contentment and joy. What living as the real “you” means is different for each of us. You can be in charge of your own process. Imagine working with a therapist who recognizes micro-aggressions and knows what they feel like to experience on a regular basis. Allow yourself to believe that you can learn to better manage gender dysphoria and feel freer as you move through the world.

Transition

My experience includes people all along the gender spectrum. I support transgender adults, youth, and children through social and physical transition. You may want to explore whether medical gender affirmation services are right for you or accessible to you and what your options are. The informed consent model I use centers you as the expert on your experiences versus placing the therapist as gate-keeper. You may want support in navigating changes in the way the world relates to you as you socially or medically transition. An intersectional approach allows us to explore these experiences.

Family & Community Support

I work with family members and gender-expansive children to decide what level of privacy or open expression is desired. I can connect families to support and resources.

I strive to ensure that all people are treated with dignity. Relatives, partners, friends, and chosen families of transgender folks can meet with me to assist in processing difficult emotions related to coming out or changes that are occurring, as well as fear related to safety and ability for self expression.

Supporting Parents & Caregivers of Trans & Gender-Expansive Children & Teens

Parenting is tough, and when you’re supporting a trans or gender-expansive child, it can sometimes feel like you’re traveling without a map. I’m here to help you feel more confident and supported, offering guidance to create a safe and affirming environment for your child while taking care of yourself, too.

Professional Trans & Gays

Being in leadership roles or tokenized positions presents unique challenges, especially in today’s climate. Whether you’re familiar with therapy or new to it, I provide tailored support based on your goals and needs.

INSURANCE INFORMATION

In North Carolina, I’m in network with Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield (CareFirst), and United (Optum, UMR, Student Services, Oscar) plans. I’m out of network with all plans in Maryland.

Please contact me with your insurance information to verify your benefits. For out of network plans, you’ll receive monthly superbills (a special receipt) that you can submit to your insurance, HSA, or FSA.

Please know that any communication or dealing with reimbursement denials are between you and your insurer. You always have the right to appeal denials with them, and request assistance from your State Insurance Commissioner. However, I do not become involved in those communications.
